For the Love of Vintage

Like so many collections begin, August Vintage Club evolved from a personal treasury of stellar finds to a closet half full of pieces waiting to be worn, repaired, altered or lent out to friends. Closet space fluctuated as favourites rose to daily-wear-status, unworn pieces moved to storage, those boxes grew in number and moved locations (then across the country), the clothing begging to be enjoyed again. Thus was born a curation of wonderful things that will one day find their person.
In flux, I've been guilty of wearing the easy outfit, defaulting to the no-brainer shopping trip for basics, feeling like a trend just couldn't be for me; how would that style fit with what I already own? Vintage clothing has become an outlet, a joy to explore new styles, an accessible space to try more sustainable habits and at the heart of it all, such an exciting part of expressing myself when the inspiration hits.
From one closet to another, AV is a celebration of things of the past. The shared feeling of finding a dress that somehow fits in all the right places, crispy worn in denim you can't believe exists, or the kind of tailored jacket you both need and want. That's the exciting part of vintage shopping, isn't it? You never know whats waiting for you and how it will fold perfectly into your life, like it was meant to be part of your story. History is a bonus in the canon.
AV pieces are meant for everyone; the sole purpose is to enjoy getting dressed. I prefer the focus to be on quality, wearable design and of course, helping you to fall in love with your wardrobe, over and over again. In our journal, together we'll take a look at care practices to extend the life of your pieces, seasonal styling inspiration and delve into how nothing is too precious to be worn if you tap into your creativity. As a caretaker of your future closet, I can't wait for these pieces to join you on your next adventures.
